This advanced course, meeting once per week, provides an in-depth study of the elegant design of the human body, covering the anatomy and physiology of the human body's 11 organ systems in detail. 

Using both microscopic and gross anatomy techniques, students will delve into the wonders of the human body and its workings.

Topics include histology, skin and bones, skeletal system histology and movement, muscle histology and physiology, skeletal muscle system, central and peripheral nervous system, endocrine system, circulatory system, lymphatic system, digestive system, respiratory system, urinary system, and reproductive system.

Class activities will include lecture, microscope and dissection labs (eye, heart, and fetal pig), a blood typing lab, review of the chapters, and application of biological principles to life and health.

Students will complete a lab notebook based on in-class activities.

On non-class days, students will complete reading, study guides, lab drawings/reports, and tests, which will be graded by the teacher. Note that this is not an Advanced Placement course.
